LASER World of PHOTONICS
APPLICATION PANELS

The World of Photonics Congress also covered current themes in a series of application panels, the slogan of which is lasers and photonics in actual practice. These application-oriented lectures and workshops bridge the gap between theory and practice. They were broken down into three categories, i.e. Biophotonics and Life Sciences, Advanced Lasers and Light Generation in Science and Industry, and Laser Systems for Production Engineering, with special emphasis on photovoltaic manufacturing.

The open lectures based on actual practice at the World of Photonics Congress were free of charge and gave industry representatives a chance to present challenges and solution approaches in various application sectors. All presented applications and systems were also on display at the fair.

Topics:
  • Visions for future diagnostics
  • Short-pulse lasers in commercial applications
  • Lasers for photovoltaics
  • Lasers for biophotonics
  • Novel developments in solid-state laser technology,
  • Photovoltaics technologies utilizing lasers
  • Visions for future diagnostics
  • Sustainable illumination concepts
  • Optical components and materials for high-power lasers,
  • Rapid manufacturing
  • Use of high-brilliance beam sources
