Fibotec Fiberoptics - at electronica 2008
Laser diodes for test & measurement

Extremely narrowband laser diodes will be presented by Fibotec Fiberoptics GmbH the first time at electronica 2008 from November 11th-14th. These single-frequency light sources have a spectral width below 10kHz and high optical output of 15mW (from the fiber end). At the moment ITU-grid wavelength selection within the so called C-band in between 1529nm and 1561nm can be ordered. Different emission wavelength  (for production quantity) and selection for higher output power and lower spectral width can be requested. The substantially longer coherence length  compared with other laser diodes, including DFB-lasers, and the low phase noise establish the basis of a unique performance. These specifications allow the application in spectroscopic measurements and most coherent testing techniques. Hydrophones, Geophones, Doppler-measurements and frequency conversion represent just a few of many fields of application.

Fibotec also offers customer specific subsystems for these single-frequency laser diodes besides the component itself. In addition to laser diode drivers and TEC-controllers for instance optical amplifiers, phase modulators and wavelength multiplexers can be specified.
