The success
you have had in your career so far is based
not only on your knowledge and your willingness to perform. You also have very individual personality
attributes and skills that have helped you get where you are today. Perhaps you
are
- a very special dynamic personality who doesn't waste time but gets to the task at hand as soon as possible,
- a particularly calm personality who never rushes into things, but who approaches tasks methodically and makes decisions only after careful consideration,
- a communicative person who achieves his or her goals through a broad network of relationships,
- a rather reticent type of person who prefers to maintain just a few valuable relationships
There is no
standard that defines a "winning personality": speed and a pleasure
in establishing contacts can be success drivers just as much as thoughtfulness
and reticence. Taking the expression from sport, "Never change a winning
team" career coaches say, "Never change a winning personality."
For you, that means: don't change, but define your individual strengths and
develop them continuously.
Calmly consider what career successes you have achieved in the past and where
you see any deficits. Take a few days to reflect on this and write down
everything you can think of.
