According to market analyses and company surveys, biophotonics is one of the key technologies that will play a central role in the future when it comes to tapping new markets and creating jobs in the high-tech sectors - be it in medical technology or environmental technology.

The Symposium on Biophotonics Research, which is part of a program subsidized by Germany's Federal Ministry for Education and Research, is being held as part of the World of Photonics Congress. Besides the conference, the fair will also feature an exhibition sector for biophotonics applications, techniques and procedures that will give visitors interdisciplinary insights into this field.
